PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Dynamic Nail Supply Headquarters is a two-story, 25,850 SF steel-framed mercantile retail building designed to establish a modern and highly visible presence for the client in Houston, Texas. Situated at the intersection of two major thoroughfares, the building serves as a prominent landmark for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The design is rooted in the concept of beauty as a veil, expressed through a metal panel screen elevated above a masonry plinth. This layered composition creates a dynamic architectural expression that shifts in perception from multiple viewpoints, blending crisp, linear forms with softer curves to add depth and visual interest.

The program accommodates a range of integrated functions, including a merchandising showroom, instructional seminar spaces, product fabrication, backstock storage, and shipping and receiving. These diverse uses are organized to balance customer-facing experiences with efficient operational workflows.

Site constraints provided an opportunity to depart from typical suburban retail typologies. RDLR also assisted the client in reclaiming approximately 30% of usable site area by navigating the release of an abandoned pipeline easement, significantly improving site functionality.

A central atrium anchors the interior, supporting intuitive wayfinding, flexible merchandising, and a strong sense of placemaking while reinforcing the collaborative and instructional environment central to the client’s mission. The building is carefully organized to clearly define customer access while accommodating the logistical needs of warehouse distribution within a constrained site.
