PROJECT DESCRIPTION
RDLR Architects and OMA are transforming Houston’s historic former Folgers coffee plant as part of a 254,808-square-foot adaptive reuse project for Lovett Commercial. The $10 million redevelopment will convert the former industrial facility into a code-compliant core and shell, supporting new uses at the site, including the planned Frank Liu Jr. Academy of Music and Arts. Built in the late 1930s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021, the property preserves an important piece of Houston’s industrial heritage while contributing to the continued revitalization of the East End and Second Ward.
