Building the Backbone of Campus Operations: COM Breaks Ground on New Services Facility

Last week, College of the Mainland welcomed community members and local leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new Campus Services Building—a significant investment in the infrastructure that keeps the campus running efficiently every day.

This 22,000 SF facility—a key component of the COMPASS 2025 Master Plan—will bring together essential services including Facility Services, Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Storage, while expanding capabilities to better support the college community. Enhancements include warehouse space, mechanic and wood shops, a large truck dock, and vehicle storage, all designed to improve operations campus-wide.

Thoughtful site selection and planning ensure a safer, more efficient environment by separating heavy truck traffic from daily campus circulation. The building’s design reflects the COM campus aesthetic, incorporating durable, resilient materials that support long-term performance and responsible stewardship.

We’re proud to be part of a project that strengthens the backbone of campus operations and supports COM’s continued growth.
